Writers Procrastination

The tagline of my blog is “expert ostriching”, which I know is not very clear to people, but it is something that one of my best friends once said to me about our amazing ability to procrastinate over absolutely everything. Like ostriches, we bury our heads in the sand and instead of doing fifteen minutes of yoga and hopping into the shower, we spend two hours googling the etymology of the word etymology and watching videos of plane crash simulations on Youtube (this may just be me). Because I am already a master procrastinator, this leaks its way into my writing life. I will have a great idea about something to write, have so many thoughts buzzing around in my head about the storyline, but instead of just going ahead and writing the story, I anally compile lists of information about the characters, 70% of which I probably won’t even need. Then by the time I have spent an inordinate amount of time gathering useless information, I have either bored myself to death of the storyline or completely lost the plot, literally. Writing quotes sometimes give me the jolly kick up the arse I need to just bloody write. Here is a list of anti-procrastination and motivational quotes for writers, which I wrote whilst procrastinating myself . . . enjoy! XD
